The 2014 Franciscan University Steubenville Youth Conference Form
1st. Podcast of “The NOW” show
Click Here to see our first podcast of our new youth ministry show called “The Now”. The title for the show was brought about as Justin and I discussed the way many adults will refer to the teens as “The Future” of The Church. which sadly allows us to put off until tomorrow the things that we need to address today. The youth and particularly teens are “The NOW!” of the The Church because if we do not “Get” them now…we will not have a future with them in it! So they are THE NOW of The Church. Hence the title of the new podcast. This is the first one where we talk to Justin about how he became involved in Youth Ministry and a little about his history before coming to St. Joan’s. We also talk about our hope for the Lenten Lock In we have scheduled for 3/21/14. Check out the show and let us know what you think!

MARCH FOR LIFE
CODE OF CONDUCT
BE COURAGEOUS, BE COURTEOUS, BE CATHOLIC, BE COOL!
Be Courageous
- This is a pilgrimage, not a vacation, not even a field trip. When you are on a pilgrimage you never complain about anything.
- It takes real courage to practice virtue, to be obedient, to stay on task, especially on a trip like this.
- Because this is a pilgrimage, there will be many opportunities for sacrifices! Accept them all with courage, and a smile. It is a chance to make reparation, and to offer up our sacrifices for the unborn, our loved ones, and for all the prayer intentions that we will take with us on the March.
- Be patient. There will be long lines, lots of people, waiting for the buses, waiting for the March to begin, waiting to get food. Every time we wait, it is another sacrifice to offer up.
Be Courteous
- Be courteous and respectful, to everyone everywhere. This March is about the dignity of the human person-Live that reality! Respect yourself and each other, especially the adult leaders on the trip.
- Follow directions, listen when an adult is talking, have a good attitude- even when you are tired and it is difficult!
- Say please and thank you EVERYWHERE!
- Clean up after yourself, everywhere, all the time.
- When it is lights out, respect each other and the adults and be silent. It will be a long trip and we all will need some sleep. (especially those adults returning to work on Thursday)
- Stay with your assigned group at all times!
- The opportunity to charge phones will be limited, so keep your phone turned off as much as possible.
Be Catholic
- You represent St. Joan of Arc and are traveling with Father Black. Others will know you are Catholic. Represent the Church well.
- Be a witness of Christian irtue and holiness to your peers, adult leaders, Father and everyone else you meet! Especially when you are tired, hungry or frustrated!
- This is a pilgrimage, so we will be praying a lot. Always be reverent and do not goof off while we are praying, even on the bus. There will be time for fun too.

There is no RollerChairBall this week!
There is no RollerChairBall this week 9/15/13! We are asking teens to go to St. Gabriel Radio to help answer phones for their Spirit Drive!
Help Mike! Please Answer These!
Would you be willing to help me with providing some feedback about the SJOA Youth Group? I want to include this survey in the weekly bulletin with your answers featured to help invite new teens to the programs. So whether you are a graduated member who is now in college or a current high school teen please take just a few minutes to seriously answer these questions. If your experience with SJOA YM means/meant anything to you then your witness will bring many other teens to Our Lord.
Here are the questions just answer the ones that apply to you. Please take this seriously and be “friendly and inviting” in your descriptions and answers. Thank you so much! It will take just a few minutes of your time but it could make an eternal difference to a teen at SJOA or in the Powell area. God bless you all!
