MARCH FOR LIFE

CODE OF CONDUCT

BE COURAGEOUS, BE COURTEOUS, BE CATHOLIC, BE COOL!

Be Courageous

  • This is a pilgrimage, not a vacation, not even a field trip.  When you are on a pilgrimage you never complain about anything.
  • It takes real courage to practice virtue, to be obedient, to stay on task, especially on a trip like this.
  • Because this is a pilgrimage, there will be many opportunities for sacrifices!  Accept them all with courage, and a smile. It is a chance to make reparation, and to offer up our sacrifices for the unborn, our loved ones, and for all the prayer intentions that we will take with us on the March.
  • Be patient. There will be long lines, lots of people, waiting for the buses, waiting for the March to begin, waiting to get food.  Every time we wait, it is another sacrifice to offer up.

Be Courteous

  • Be courteous and respectful, to everyone everywhere.  This March is about the dignity of the human person-Live that reality! Respect yourself and each other, especially the adult leaders on the trip.
  • Follow directions, listen when an adult is talking, have a good attitude- even when you are tired and it is difficult!
  • Say please and thank you EVERYWHERE!
  • Clean up after yourself, everywhere, all the time.
  • When it is lights out, respect each other and  the adults and be silent. It will be a long trip and we all will need some sleep. (especially those adults returning to work on Thursday)
  • Stay with your assigned group at all times!
  • The opportunity to charge phones will be limited, so keep your phone turned off as much as possible.

Be Catholic

  • You represent St. Joan of Arc and are traveling with Father Black.  Others will know you are Catholic.  Represent the Church well.
  • Be a witness of Christian irtue and holiness to your peers, adult leaders, Father and everyone else you meet!  Especially when you are tired, hungry or frustrated!
  • This is a pilgrimage, so we will be praying a lot.  Always be reverent and do not goof off while we are praying, even on the bus. There will be time for fun too.
